Greater Noida: On Monday, office-bearers of the Gautam Buddh Nagar Joint Transporters Association met the Chief Executive Officer of the Yamuna Authority, Rakesh Kumar Singh, and urged him to launch a plot scheme for Transport Nagar.
Led by the association’s president, Chaudhary Vedpal Singh, the delegation submitted a memorandum to the CEO requesting allotment of plots in the Transport Nagar earmarked in YEIDA Sector 33.
The association asked that transporters from Gautam Buddh Nagar be given priority in the allotment. Separate blocks and dedicated parking should be provided for trucks (goods carriers), buses and cabs.
They suggested developing plots in two sizes—120 square metres and 250 square metres—along with other facilities in Transport Nagar. The CEO assured the association that the plot scheme would be announced soon. Mahavir Nagar, Yogesh Verma and Vijay Pal Bhati were also present.
