District administration on 1 August to conduct multi-site mock drill on earthquake & industrial-hazard response
Greater Noida

District Magistrate, chairing a review meeting on Monday, instructed all concerned departments to complete timely preparations for the 1 August mock drill aimed at assessing emergency response capability and strengthening inter-agency coordination. Departments — police, municipal body, NDRF, health, food & civil supplies, civil defence, information, traffic, NCC, electricity, water board, fire service, transport and home-guards — were told to reach the designated venues in advance and remain ready.

Five venues have been fixed for the exercise: Savitribai Phule Balika Inter College; AWH Society; LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd; Government Institute of Medical Sciences; and Vikas Bhawan. Gautam Buddha University will serve as the staging area and responder camp, the District Emergency Operations Centre at the collectorate as communications hub, DM office as Incident Command Post, Sharda Hospital as medical camp, and Malkpur Stadium as relief camp. One incident commander has been assigned to each of the five drill sites.

Officials have been asked to confirm availability of resources, route maps, ambulances, communication systems and rescue equipment well before the drill so that the district’s disaster-management capacity can be accurately evaluated and every department can rehearse its role effectively.
