Established in 2009 by Dr. Ujjwal Agrawal and Mrs. Astha Agrawal, Ujjhal Astha Hospital is a 150-bed, multi-specialty facility located on GT Road (NH 19) in Kalyanpur, Kanpur. The hospital was founded with the vision of bringing affordable, high-quality health care to both urban and semi-urban populations of the region. Over the past fourteen years it has evolved into a referral centre for cardiology, neurology, obstetrics & gynaecology, orthopaedics, neonatology and minimal-access surgery.
Design & Capacity
The five-storey structure is built on a 1.8-acre plot and follows the latest NABH guidelines for fire safety, infection control and patient flow.

• Pathology and microbiology laboratories accredited by NABL; 24-hour blood bank component therapy and apheresis facility
Clinical Departments & Expertise
Heart Centre: Conducts 3,800+ cardiac catheterisations and 900+ open-heart procedures yearly, including off-pump CABG and paediatric cardiac surgery managed by a four-member cardiothoracic team led by Dr. Pankaj Shrivastava (DM, CTVS). Neuroscience Centre offers thrombolysis, carotid stenting and awake-craniotomy, supported by a physiotherapy-driven early-rehab programme. The Women & Child Centre performs 1,200 deliveries annually—34 % painless; the NICU has 90 % survival figures for 28-week babies. Orthopaedics implements Fast-Track Joint Replacement with average LOS of 3.4 days; sports injury & arthroscopy unit uses all-inside ACL repair. Laparoscopy and bariatrics teams complete 800 minimally invasive surgeries per year using 3-D/4K laparoscopy.
Staff & Outreach
The hospital employs 45 full-time doctors, 110 bedside nurses (BHSc/NM) and 150 paramedical/administrative staff. A tie-up with SGPGIMS Lucknow brings visiting superspecialists for weekly OPDs. Community initiatives include a 24×7 tele-ICU helpline for nearby nursing homes, annual free diabetes & cancer screening camps benefiting 18,000+ villagers, and school health programmes covering 50 institutions.
