Silverstone School, located in the upscale Silverstone suburb of Nairobi County, Kenya, is a co-educational day and boarding institution that combines heritage architecture with twenty-first-century learning. Spread across forty acres of tea-green lawns and manicured gardens, its main building is a tastefully renovated colonial-era mansion whose white verandas are wrapped in purple bougainvillea. Beyond the original arches lies a modern campus: science laboratories that meet Cambridge International standards, an Apple-accredited design & technology studio, and the only Astro-turf football pitch in the greater Kiambu area. A fifteen-minute drive from the Northern Bypass, the school sits amid rolling coffee estates and is watched over by the distant Ngong Hills.

Academically, Silverstone follows the British curriculum from Early Years (Foundation Stage 1) through A-Level. Pupils in Years 10 and 11 sit IGCSE examinations administered by Edexcel and Cambridge Assessment International Education; the Sixth Form (Years 12 & 13) chooses between A-Levels or the globally assessed International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme. Average class size is eighteen pupils, supported by a 6:1 student-teacher ratio. The faculty—recruited from Kenya, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada, and India—holds postgraduate degrees and IB or Edexcel certification. Since 2018, the school has averaged a 93 % pass rate at A*-C in IGCSE, with 75 % of leavers attaining Russell Group and U.S. Ivy League placements.

Co-curricular life is compulsory. Over forty afternoon clubs range from robotics and a Level-2 Royal Yachting Association sailing programme on Lake Naivasha to equestrian training at the adjacent Silverstone Riding Academy. Boarders (Grades 4-13) live in four gender-segregated houses—Kingfisher, Falcon, Eagle, and Hawk—each guided by live-in house-parents and a resident counsellor. Evening facilities include a 300-seat black-box theatre equipped with LED cyclorama lights, a 25 m heated swimming pool, a multipurpose indoor arena certified for FIBA youth basketball and IBSA blind-football, and a newly installed 10-metre climbing wall. The school fields competitive teams in rugby 7s, netball, and the regional KSSSA hockey league; recent alumnus Dan Kipruto captained the Kenya U-20 national rugby squad.

Pastoral care follows a bespoke “Silverstone Five Pillars” model—Scholarship, Service, Spirituality, Sport, and Sustainability—underpinned by a full-time nurse, visiting child psychologist, and an on-site chaplaincy that serves Anglican, Catholic, and Muslim traditions equally. The cafeteria procures organically grown vegetables from the campus agro-forest and rotates Afro-fusion menus crafted by a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef. A scholarship fund endowed by the Kenyan Tea Sector Board currently supports forty-five need-blind full bursaries. Admissions for September intake close in February; prospective families tour with current prefects before an online placement assessment in English, Mathematics, and cognitive ability.
