Shanti Hospital is a 275-bed, multi-specialty tertiary care institution strategically situated on a five-acre campus in the heart of Jaipur’s Vaishali Nagar. Established in 2003 by the Shanti Charitable Healthcare Trust with a vision of “affordable excellence,” the hospital has grown from a modest 50-bed center into a regional referral hub that serves eastern Rajasthan and adjoining districts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh while continuing to reserve 25 % of its beds at highly subsidised rates for below-poverty-line patients.

The architecture blends contemporary glass-and-steel functionalism with traditional Rajasthani sandstone jaali screens, creating an environment that filters intense desert light and keeps indoor corridors cool. Upon entering, visitors step into a soaring atrium lit by a skylight and cooled by eucalyptus-scented air. A triage desk layered in white marble, multilingual digital kiosks, and over 5,000 sq ft of indoor green walls reduce the clinical sterility commonly associated with hospitals.

Shanti Hospital’s clinical infrastructure spans three broad towers:

  • Diagnostic & Emergency Tower housing a 24×7 Level-2 trauma centre with Helipad connectivity, 16-bay ICU, four advanced modular cath-labs, a 128-slice CT, 3T MRI, dual-energy SPECT-CT, digital PET-MRI (the first in the state outside Delhi NCR), molecular pathology lab, and a fully robotic drug-dispensing pharmacy managed by Swisslog.
  • Specialty Care Tower with 18 Centres of Excellence including cardiology, cardiothoracic & vascular surgery, oncology, neurosciences, minimally invasive and robotic GI surgery, orthopaedics & sports medicine, reproductive medicine / IVF, and maternal–fetal medicine. Robotic surgery programmes (Da Vinci Xi, Mazor X for spine, CORI robotic knee system) began in 2019 and have collectively crossed 4,500 cases with an average length-of-stay 22 % shorter than national benchmarks.
  • Wellness & Rehabilitation Block featuring 80 private suites overlooking floral courtyards, a 4,000 sq ft hydrotherapy pool, personalised physiotherapy gym, speech-and-swallow studio, clinical nutrition kitchen run by dieticians and Master-Chef consultants, and a compact meditation dome where mindfulness, guided imagery and pre-natal yoga are delivered free to all in-patients.

A fleet of 14 ALS ambulances supported by GPS-linked Command Centre ensures a median response time of 6 minutes within city limits; on-board tele-ICU transmits vitals en-route so clinicians prep beds before arrival. Blood bank operates 365 days, maintaining a rare-blood-group registry of over 8,000 voluntary donors through WhatsApp alerts that mobilise units within 60 minutes.

Shanti Medical College, affiliated with Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, trains 150 undergraduate and 76 postgraduate students annually. The Center for Simulation & Skills houses eight high-fidelity mannequins, a birthing simulator that haptic-recreates shoulder dystocia, and Kerala-pineapple accident simulators for brachial plexus injuries. A recent ICMR-NIHH study found that residents trained here scored 34 % above national OSCE averages.

Digital innovation lies at the core. The “Shanti Lifeline” app lets patients book appointments, view 3-D stent reports, monitor maternal labs, and e-pay using UPI or cashless insurance—including Ayushman Bharat and 67 private TPAs. Since 2021, Shanti has run an AI-enabled rural e-clinic network connecting 42 village health & wellness centers via 5G kiosks, conducting over 22,000 tele-consults for chronic disease follow-up and pre-eclampsia monitoring.

Accredited by NABH and NABL, the hospital is governed by a transparent patient-charter with QR-coded feedback forms. Nursing:patient ratio averages 1:3 across general wards, and an in-house 140-seat canteen staffed by Cancer Nutrition Specialists offers calorie-monitored meals at ₹60. Sustainability initiatives include a 500 kW rooftop solar plant, STP that recycles 70 % of water for cooling towers, and a plasma pyrolysis unit converting biomedical waste into bricks used for hospital landscaping.

Shanti Hospital’s story is one where tertiary technology and human empathy intersect; clinicians trained at AIIMS, Tata Memorial and Mayo work shoulder-to-shoulder with rural ASHA workers in continuous medical education camps under the motto “सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः (May all be well).
