Sarla Chopra D.A.V. Public School is a prominent English-medium co-educational senior-secondary institution located in Sector-14, Rohini, Delhi. Backed by the D.A.V. College Managing Committee—the largest non-government educational organization in India—and sponsored by the Sarla Chopra Educational Society, the school was founded in 1992 to realize Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s vision of blending modern scientific education with timeless Vedic values. Spread over 3.2 acres of allotted DDA land, the campus offers a green, noise-free environment within the densely populated capital. From 35 students in a single room, the school has grown to more than 3,500 learners served by 160 qualified teachers, maintaining a healthy pupil-teacher ratio of 22:1.

Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the school runs classes from Nursery to Class XII across four houses—Agni, Jal, Prithvi and Vayu—with each house led by captains, vice-captains and a team of teacher mentors. The curriculum follows the Latest CBSE pattern and culminates in the All India Senior School Certificate Examination. At the senior-secondary level, students choose from three streams: Science (Medical and Non-Medical), Commerce and Humanities, complemented by professional electives such as Informatics Practices, Legal Studies, Entrepreneurship and Fine Arts.

Infrastructure is contemporary yet rooted in traditional sensibilities. The four-storey academic block contains 72 smart classrooms equipped with interactive panels, Wi-Fi and CCTV surveillance. Separate labs for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Biotechnology and ATAL tinkering invite inquiry-based learning. A 50,000-volume library-cum-resource centre with periodical rooms, e-journals and a quiet reading annex encourages independent scholarship. Performing & visual-arts spaces include an air-conditioned auditorium (600 seats), a fine-arts studio with sculpture kiln, a dance room with mirrored walls and a recording studio for music. Sports facilities encompass a 6-lane 200 m track, astroturf hockey ground, two basketball courts, two volleyball courts, kabaddi & kho-kho courts, half-Olympic indoor pool and shooting range, a gymnasium with cardio-cum-strength zone, and yoga hall. Infirmary with a qualified nurse and visiting doctor, counsellor’s room and career-guidance cell ensure student well-being.

Co-curricular life is vibrant. The SUPW & Interact Club organize tree-plantation and Rotaract blood-donation drives. NCC Army, Scouts & Guides and ECO club undertake neighbourhood patrols and waste-segregation projects. The entrepreneurship cell runs a student-run cafeteria, “DAV Café”, while the RoboKnights team has clinched laurels at Robocon Delhi and WRO nationals. Talent nights, techno-cultural fest “Anveshan” and annual sports day “Khelotsav” build peer leadership. Specialized academies coach learners after school for chess, lawn tennis, football, skating, gymnastics and shooting. Through innovation club, ATL and CBSE Science Exhibition, learners prototype IoT devices, winning grants to incubate start-ups.

Emphasizing holistic growth, Sarla Chopra D.A.V. integrates Vedic chanting, Gita classes and community service with rigorous academics. Regular heritage walks, inter-school debates and an award-winning MUN chapter keep alumni engaged globally.
