Prometheus School, a purpose-built K-12 day-cum-boarding campus on a 12.5-acre greenbelt in Sector 65, Gurugram, positions itself as “the first International Baccalaureate continuum school in North India”. Classes span from Pre-Nursery to Grade 12, aligned to the full IB ladder—PYP, MYP and DP—so a child can remain within one philosophical framework for an entire school life. Hindi is offered at every stage, yet the working language and medium of instruction is English; German, French and Spanish enter the timetable from Grade 3 upward, while mother-tongue support programmes are run after school for Korean, Japanese and Bengali families already living on campus.
Block-plan architecture turns long corridors into “learning streets” overflowing with natural light. 55 classrooms (1:10 teacher ratio) open onto shaded verandas that students can write on with dry-wipe pens—every surface is an emergent worksheet. A 60’ by 40’ atrium Science Plaza forms the academic heart, with level-appropriate labs for physics, chemistry, maker-space robotics, media production and biotechnology that also service neighbouring colleges for weekend workshops. The arts wing contains a 500-seat black-box theatre, eight acoustically-treated music studios (including a Yamaha grand-recital room) and a kiln-fed ceramics studio.
Athletics follow a “No-cut sports” philosophy: every child trains five afternoons a week in a chosen discipline. Facilities include a temperature-controlled Olympic-length swimming pool, FIFA-standard football turf, two FIBA-size basketball courts, eight-lane 400 m track, and a climbing wall certified by Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. Boarders (Grade 6 upward, capacity 300) live in four-storey residence halls that operate on house-parent and mentor-tutor systems; weekend expeditions to the Aravallis and annual Himalayan trekking electives are compulsory. Weekday vegetarian meals, developed under the guidance of Max Healthcare dieticians, rotate 400 recipes per term.
From Grade 8, each learner designs a “Personal Odyssey Project” mentored by industry partners such as Adobe, NID and ISRO; past prototypes range from drought-resistant hydroponics to VR museum apps. An on-campus micro-farm, tended by Grades 1-5, contributes 40 % of the salad produce to the dining hall and serves as a living laboratory for the IB units on sustainability. Average DP cohort score is 37/45, with university placements spanning Imperial College London, NYU Abu Dhabi and Ashoka University; the school endowment fund guarantees need-blind admission for 25 % of each incoming batch.
