New Bal Bharti Public School, established in 1998, is an English-medium, co-educational day school set on a lush 4.5-acre campus in Sector-21, Rohini, Delhi-110085. Governed by the Bal Bharti Shiksha Samiti, the institution follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus up to the Senior Secondary level (classes LKG–XII). It serves about 2,600 students under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Rekha Sharma and a faculty of 120 well-qualified teachers, maintaining an optimal teacher–pupil ratio of 1:22. Beginning with only 78 children in rented rooms, the school has grown into a fully integrated learning community with five academically and culturally distinct houses—Shakti, Shradha, Kirti, Parakram, and Pragati—that drive its competitive and creative programmes.
The curriculum is supplemented by experiential-learning modules: robotics and AI labs for classes III onward, ATAL Tinkering Lab supported by NITI Aayog, and a fully operational commerce & humanities stream for Senior Secondary that launched in 2015 alongside science. Scholastic indices remain robust: the 2023 class-XII board produced a 96.8 % pass rate, with the science topper scoring 98.4 % and the commerce stream 97.2 %. Integrated IIT-JEE and NEET coaching is offered through in-house tie-ups with experienced mentors, while foundational literacy is reinforced by a reading programme using Collins’ international graded readers.
Infrastructure balances academics, arts, and athletics. A two-storey library stocks 18,000 volumes and subscribes to 38 national and international periodicals; the 120-seat auditorium features stage-craft workshops and a Dolby sound system. Sports facilities include a semi-Olympic swimming pool (with NIS-trained coaches), six-lane 400-metre athletics track, flood-lit basketball and tennis courts, cricket nets with a bowling machine, and a squash wall. Yoga, taekwondo (a bronze medallist in the Delhi State Championship 2023 trains here), and gymnastics are compulsory from classes I-VIII. A multi-purpose indoor arena doubles as an aesthetic studio for dance, drama and music, which are intrinsically woven into the learning process; the school’s fusion-Western orchestra won first prize at the National Cultural Festival 2023 in Pune.
Technology underpins day-to-day learning: every classroom is equipped with 4k smart boards backed by cloud-based Google Workspace for Education; a campus-wide intranet hosts an e-content repository aligned to NCERT. A fleet of twenty-seven GPS–enabled CNG buses, many monitored by CCTV and escort staff trained in Women-Safety Protocol 2022, provides door-to-door transport across Rohini, Pitampura and North-West Delhi.
Pastoral care is institutionalised through a mentor–mentee system; each teacher is allotted a group of twelve students for academic monitoring, counselling and parental interface. The school counsellor and certified special educator jointly run the SUGAM cell for Learning Disabilities; to date, 42 children with mild-to-moderate dyslexia have successfully transitioned to inclusive main-stream classes. Community outreach includes annual blood-donation drives, Adopt-a-Slum literacy project, and “Green Gyan” urban farming initiative in collaboration with the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).
Accredited as a British Council “International School Award” (2019–2022) and certified five-star by the Directorate of Education, Delhi, for Swachh Vidyalaya parameters, New Bal Bharti fosters a value-centric, tech-enabled, and globally sensitive ethos.
