NAVJEEVAN HOSPITAL

Navjeevan Hospital stands as a comprehensive, multi-specialty centre of healing in the heart of the city. Founded in 1998 by Dr Mukul Rastogi and a group of senior physicians, the 200-bed tertiary-care facility was envisioned as a place where advanced medicine would always be delivered with warmth and affordability. The mission—“To restore health and hope with compassion and expertise”—still guides every department and daily interaction.
The 5-acre campus combines state-of-the-art equipment with thoughtful design. A naturally lit atrium links five main blocks: outpatient towers, inpatient wards, a dedicated oncology wing, mother-child centre, and a 20-bed critical-care complex that includes medical, surgical, cardiac and neonatal ICUs. A rooftop helipad and ground-floor ambulance bay ensure seamless emergency transfers. Gardens, meditation corners and a donor-funded canteen offering subsidised meals serve patients, attendants and staff alike.
Medical services span more than 35 specialties and super-specialties. Cardiac sciences feature a 24/7 cath lab, minimally invasive valve-repair theatre and electrophysiology mapping. The hospital is a regional referral hub for oncology, housing a linear accelerator, brachytherapy suite and day-care chemo chairs arranged like a reading lounge to reduce anxiety. Orthopaedics and sports medicine include computer-navigated joint replacements and an indoor rehab gym. Obstetrics & gynaecology cover routine deliveries to high-risk maternal-foetal medicine, while a Level-III NICU backs pre-term babies above 650 g. Nephrology-renal transplant, gastroenterology with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, neurology with sleep labs, and minimally invasive bariatric and robotic surgeries complete the advanced portfolio.
Diagnostic strength rests on a modular lab run by NABL-accredited pathologists, a 128-slice CT with cardiac gating, 3-Tesla MRI, digital mammography, and an in-house blood bank certified for component therapy. An electronic health-record system links prescriptions, imaging and reports so consultants can review patient history at every touch-point.
Human capital drives Navjeevan’s reputation: 160 full-time consultants, of whom 40 are DM/MCh super-specialists; 220 resident doctors; 500 nurses with certified ACLS and PALS training; and paramedics who undergo quarterly skill drills. Nursing ratios are 1:1 in ICU, 1:4 in wards, and 1:2 in labour rooms. Transplant coordinators and lactation consultants bridge medical care with psychosocial support.
Community outreach includes weekly rural OPD camps, free cervical-cancer screening drives, and school health programmes that have reached 60,000 children. The Navjeevan Foundation finances 12-15 critical heart surgeries monthly for families below the poverty line; sponsorships are crowd-sourced through local Rotary clubs. International patients from SAARC and Gulf regions are assisted with visa facilitation, language interpreters and Islamic diet options.
Accreditations now include NABH for hospitals, NABL for labs, and ISO 14001 for green practices. A 110 kW rooftop solar array provides 25 % of daily power; waste-water is recycled to irrigate native flora. Recent expansions added a 65-suite outpatient day-care centre and a robotic pharmacy dispensing 15,000+ prescriptions monthly with zero-error barcoding.
For nine consecutive years, an independent survey ranked Navjeevan “Most Trusted Hospital” in the region. Yet its proudest call remains the simple morning prayer recited by all staff: “May every life entrusted to us rise anew.”
