Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector 24, Noida (KVS–24), was established in 1986 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Set on a six-acre, tree-ringed campus in the institutional belt of Sector-24, it was originally raised to meet the educational needs of employees of neighbouring PSU offices—NTPC, NHPC, Indian Oil—and of the sizeable residential catchment in the nearby Group-C Housing Complexes. Today the school serves 2,200 day-scholars drawn from classes I to XII, 40 percent of whose parents are either Central-government or Defence personnel and the rest from the private sector and medium-income neighbourhoods of Noida.

Academically, KVS-24 is a single–shift school affiliated to CBSE (Affiliation No. 2120016). From class VI onward students opt for one of three streams—Science, Commerce or Humanities—while classes I–V follow the NCERT–NIPUN multi-domain curriculum introduced in 2022. The pass percentage in the 2023 CBSE board examinations was 100 percent, with a median aggregate of 87.3 percent; eighty-two students scored above 95 percent. Remedial classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for border-line learners, and Gifted Children’s Clubs in Science, Mathematics and Sanskrit meet once a week under ERDF-funded mentors. Roughly 160 students sit for the NTSE, JSTSE and INSPIRE-Awards programme each year.

Infrastructure is deliberately utilitarian but complete. A three-storey academic block houses 62 ventilated classrooms equipped with smart boards, overhead Wi-Fi and CCTV. The Composite Science Labs (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), an ICT lab with 40 client terminals, Atal-Tinkering and Robolab, and a language-resource room with Sanako cabinets, were refurbished in 2021. Sports facilities include a 200-metre tartan track, a multi-purpose hall used for badminton, table-tennis and yoga, two cemented basketball courts and a sub-junior splash pool built in 2020 under Samagra Shiksha funding. A notably attractive feature is the 3,500-book “Parth Sarthi” reading lounge adjoining an open-air amphitheatre, inaugurated by former Director (KVS) Mr. Santosh Kumar Mall.

The 110-strong staff comprises two Post-Graduate Teachers for every section from IX onwards and 17 contractual specialists; the Principal, Mrs Renu Tyagi, is an KV-olive (1993 batch). Co-scholastic life is robust: the school accrual in the KVS National Games has been consistently among the top five in the Delhi Region; the Shooting team trains on a five-lane 10-metre range and swept seven medals in 2022. Cultural wings covering Indian classical music (Dakshini), theatre (Rangshala) and visual art (Brushstrokes) meet thrice weekly and the Inter-House competitions remain fiercely fought—Tagore House last won the rolling trophy in 2023.

Community connect is anchored by the 140-member Parent-Teacher Association and the active alumni network “VSA–24” that funds merit scholarships—`2 lakh annually—besides conducting career-counselling micro-camps. Cleanliness drives, cycle rallies against air-pollution and visits to the nearby bird sanctuary translate classroom lessons into situational ethics.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector 24 therefore presents itself as an inclusive, competitive and technologically forward school that still keeps faith with the egalitarian mandate of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan: good education, accessible to every child of a transferable Central Government employee, regardless of economic profile.
