JBM SMART START – The Foundation School is a co-educational, English-medium day school that caters to children from Toddlers (1.5 years) through Grade II. Occupying a secure, triple-acre campus on Ajmer Road in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the school is distinguished by its lush, play-laden environment: shaded sand-pits, splash pools, traffic parks, herb and vegetable gardens, petting corners, and an open-air amphitheatre that doubles as a story-telling circle. Every block is low-rise, naturally ventilated, and painted in calming pastels; safety sensors on doors and CCTV on every corridor give parents the confidence that the youngest learners enjoy the same security standards found in Grade XII campuses.
The pedagogical design is Early Years & Prep-centric. At the core sits the proprietary T.I.P.S. Framework—Think, Inquire, Practice, Share—mapped loosely to the principles of Play-Way and Maria Montessori, reinforced by central CBSE milestones and Cambridge Early Years Checkpoints. Children start the day with 20 minutes of brain-gym, move through theme pods (Literacy Lane, Numeracy Bay, Discovery Den, Creator’s Studio), and close with reflective mindfulness in “quiet corners” equipped with books and ukuleles. There are no benches in Toddlers and Nursery; learners choose floor mats, rockers, or standing desks. From Grade I upwards, pupils add Mastery Hours—targeted small-group pull-outs in phonics, Hindi matra fluency, and Singapore-style bar-model mathematics. The school diagnostic software, “ProGrow,” captures micro-level skills each fortnight, auto-generating goal sheets for parents and teachers alike.
Co-academically, JBM SMART START runs an exciting rotation called CAPS—Creativity, Adventure, Performance, Service. Creativity labs (Lego robotics, Indian & Western performing arts, culinary science) run in the forenoon; the afternoon slot favours mountain-climbing drills in the jungle gym, inflatable sports, and community outreach such as “Each One Feed One” drives with student-grown organic produce. The annual theatre production, “Dreamlight,” is pre-scripted by Grade I authors and composed by Grade II musicians using classroom looms and ukuleles. Capoeira, skating, splash cricket, and toddler yoga serve as PE alternatives.
Teacher-student ratio is pegged at 1:6 for Toddlers, 1:10 for Nursery–KG, and 1:12 for Grades I–II. All lead teachers hold an ECCEd with minimum five years’ experience, plus a Cambridge Early Years Teaching Certificate. A dedicated Special Education Needs Coordinator screens every child at admission and after every term; the school’s tie-up with an in-house child-psychiatry unit offers parents on-site OT, Speech, and Behaviour therapy.
Parent engagement is digital and human: the EzeeSchool app delivers daily video snippets and voice-note diaries; the monthly “Coffee & Chat” Huddle is a no-slide conversation circle with the Head of School. Meals are vegetarian, prepared in a Scheffler solar kitchen monitored by parents on a dashboard; allergies and religious preferences are followed to the grain. JBM SMART START positions itself as a foundation in the literal sense: a place where curiosity, character, and core competencies are laid deep before a child crosses over to the main JBM Campus at Grade III, seamlessly aligned and already confident in the habits of learning.
