J.S Convent School, located in the tranquil sector-12 of Rewari, Haryana, was established in 1991 under the aegis of the Jyoti Shiksha Samiti, a non-profit trust committed to providing affordable yet world-class education. From its humble beginning with just 52 children under a tin-roofed hall, the institution has grown into a vibrant Senior-Secondary co-educational campus that now serves 1,850 students from Nursery to Class XII, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi.
The 4.6-acre campus blends colonial-style red-brick façade with modern eco-friendly architecture. Four interconnected four-storey academic blocks house 48 smart classrooms equipped with interactive panels, high-speed Wi-Fi, and in-class resource corners; two composite science laboratories for Physics, Chemistry & Biology; a Mathematics & Robotics laboratory; two ATL (Atal Tinkering Labs) with 3-D printers, sensors and drone kits; a professionally stocked library that integrates 12,000 printed books with an online repository; and dedicated subject-specific labs for Geography, Home-Science & Fine-Arts.
Co-curricular breadth is a hallmark. Music halls host Hindustani vocal, tabla, violin and guitar classes, while the 400-seat auditorium keeps alive dramatics, debates and TEDxYouth events. Annual Inter-House scholarships recognise excellence in creative writing, photography and coding. Sports infrastructure comprises an Olympic-size skating ring, a 200 m eight-lane synthetic athletics track, three separate courts for basketball, lawn tennis and volleyball, and an indoor half-Olympic swimming pool maintained by NIS-certified coaches. The Adventure Club takes students annually to Himalayan trekking and Scuba-diving camps in Lakshadweep.
Teaching strength of 115 faculty, 40 % PhD or NET-qualified, is hand-picked through a rigorous three-tier recruitment and 90-hour mandatory in-service training every year in collaboration with IIM-Rohtak and University of Cambridge. The academic model includes Cambridge English courses from Grade III onward, mandatory daily reading periods, Olympiad preparation batches, and a special EDGE programme for IIT-JEE & NEET from Grade IX. A life-skills curriculum embeds financial literacy, road safety and emotional intelligence sessions delivered by certified counsellors.
Pastoral care is overseen by a full-time child psychologist, anti-bullying squad and peer mentorship cell. CCTV-monitored corridors, GPS-tracked buses, RFID attendance, and an on-campus infirmary staffed by a resident paediatrician round the clock ensure student safety.
Amid the pandemic, the school rapidly deployed its own LMS ‘J-Connekt’ which recorded 98 % synchronous attendance; laptops and data packs were distributed to every child in need. Results have been consistently outstanding—100 % Grade X pass since inception and a school average of 92.4 % in 2024; 43 students scored above 95 % in AISSCE.
