Great Columbus School, Noida, is a private, co-educational institution affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Established in 1995 under the aegis of the Great Columbus Educational Society, the school has grown from a modest neighborhood campus into one of Noida’s most sought-after day schools, currently serving roughly 2,700 students from Nursery to Class XII on a purpose-built, seven-acre site in Sector Delta–II.
The academic program follows the CBSE curriculum yet is enriched with an internal framework that emphasizes structured literacy, inquiry-based math and science, and explicit 21st-century skills. From the Primary Years (Nursery–V) pupils learn through play-based and experiential modules in subject-specific studios (Math Lab, EVS Discovery Room, Performing-Arts Pod). The Middle Years (VI–VIII) introduce interdisciplinary projects and design-thinking cycles, while the Senior Years (IX–XII) offer three mainstream streams—Science, Commerce and Humanities—supplemented by electives such as Legal Studies, Fashion Studies and Artificial Intelligence. CBSE board results have stayed above 94 % aggregate since 2015; in 2023 the science topper secured 99.2 %.
Teaching strength stands at 165, trained through a 40-hour annual professional-development calendar run in collaboration with Pearson and IIM Ahmedabad’s Case Centre. Each faculty member holds at least a B.Ed. and undergoes a quarterly appraisal based on student learning-outcome data and peer class-room observation.
Beyond the timetable, the “SOAR” (Sports, Outreach, Arts & Research) program mandates every child to pursue one competitive sport, one performing art and a form of community engagement between Classes IV and X. Facilities include an all-weather 200 m track, cricket ground with turf wicket, two synthetic tennis courts, a half-Olympic-sized swimming pool with underwater speakers, and a 3,000+ sq ft Robotics & Innovation Studio that houses two 3-D printers, laser-cutters and a drone-simulation lab. The visual-arts block has kiln facilities for pottery; 30 % of Grade X students choose art as their vocational subject.
Career guidance is institutionalized through the “Compass Lab,” begun in 2019 with UNESCO’s Network of Associated Schools. Psychometric profiling for all Grade IX students is followed by parent–student seminars with experts from IIT Delhi, Ashoka University and NID Ahmedabad. International exposure includes yearly exchanges with Scuola Europa, Turin and student internships at the Leibniz Institute in Berlin.
Pastoral care is led by a dedicated 10-member student wellness team certified in adolescent mental-health first-aid. The house system—four houses named after ancient explorers, with colors sapphire, emerald, ruby and topaz—organizes thirty inter-house contests from debating to robotics each term. Community service is tracked on the ‘Columbus Citizen App’; students have logged 55,000+ volunteer hours with partner NGOs like Navsrishti and SPYM.
Admission is merit-cum-lottery for Nursery, and Grade VI onward includes an aptitude test and interaction. Annual tuition ranges ₹1.30 to ₹1.65 lakh depending on grade.
