Located inside the marked ESIC Complex on Ashok Nagar main road, the ESIC Dispensary Kanpur is a compact, dedicated outpatient facility serving enrollees of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation who live or work in industrial belts such as Fazalganj, Panki and Govind Nagar. Operating from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on all weekdays (half-day Saturday), it offers primary-care consultation in General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and basic Paediatrics. Ancillary services include a path-lab for routine blood and urine tests, a small but well-stocked ESI formulary pharmacy dispensing branded and generic medicines at zero cost, digital X-ray and ECG machines that run on token system, and immunisation counter for ESI beneficiaries’ children under the UIP schedule.
The dispensary itself is housed in a two-storey structure where the ground floor hosts the OPD, laboratory and pharmacy, while an upper floor houses staff quarters. The dispensary handles roughly 120-150 walk-ins daily, prioritises pregnancy check-ups, diabetes and hypertension follow-up, and runs monthly NCD camps where fasting blood sugar, lipid profile and retinal photo-screening are arranged free in liaison with ESIC Model Hospital, Bara Power House (12 km away). A token-based appointment system through UMANG app has cut average waiting time to under 20 minutes during peak hours.
First-time beneficiaries are advised to carry their ESI e-Pehchan smart card or temporary ESIC registration printout for quick door-entry validation; dependants must bring employer attestation letter if card not yet generated. The compound has limited two-wheeler parking and no overnight stay facility.
