Ashvapurwa Multispeciality Hospital & Trauma Center is a 200-bed tertiary-care facility located on a three-acre campus in the heart of Gorakhpur city, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 2018 under the Ashvapurwa Healthcare Trust, the hospital was conceived to bridge the critical gap between emergency trauma services and advanced specialty care in eastern Uttar Pradesh and adjoining districts of Bihar. Today it functions as a referral hub for eight districts where road-traffic accidents, industrial injuries and complicated obstetric emergencies remain common.

The infrastructure is divided into two interconnected blocks: Block A houses the 24×7 Level-III Trauma Center with a dedicated elevator system that can transport a patient directly from the ambulance bay to any operating theatre within seven minutes. Block B contains twelve modular specialty centers—cardiology, neurosciences, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, mother & child health, critical care, nephrology, oncology, plastic-reconstructive surgery, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases and endocrinology. All 200 inpatient beds are centrally air-conditioned, fitted with multi-parameter monitors and equipped with vacuum-assisted piped medical gas. For patient safety, the entire campus is on 100 % green-power backed by 1.2 MW rooftop solar panels and dual 750 KVA diesel generators.

In emergency services, the trauma center operates with a FAST team (Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma), an on-site blood bank that stores 900 units and a modern point-of-care laboratory covering 85 parameters. The hospital’s average door-to-suture time for polytrauma patients is 38 minutes—verified by NABH empanelment in 2021. Seven fully integrated operating theatres boast laminar airflow, anaesthetic gas scavenging and 4K laparoscopic tower support. Two additional hybrid catheterization labs enable simultaneous neuro-interventional and peripheral vascular procedures.

Diagnostic accuracy is provided through a 128-slice CT, 1.5-Tesla MRI with functional imaging capability, portable ultrasonography, stress echocardiography, digital mammography, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and high-throughput molecular pathology. In-house pharmacy and dietetics departments run 24×7 to ensure continuity of medication and therapeutic nutrition.

Human resources form the backbone—275 doctors including 55 super-specialists, 380 qualified nurses, 95 paramedics and 60 patient-care executives. Continuing Medical Education is institutionalized: every specialist teaches one quarterly skill lab, nurses undergo monthly OSCE drills and trauma technicians receive ATLS/ITLS certification every two years. The hospital is also a DNB-accredited teaching site for five specialties and runs a two-year fellowship in emergency medicine endorsed by the Indian College of Emergency Medicine.

Patient-centric services include multilingual counseling (Hindi, Bhojpuri, Nepali and English), tribal patient-liaison officers, subsidized transport shuttle from three interstate bus terminals and a tele-consultation network currently serving 32 rural health centers. For financial accessibility, Ashvapurwa runs its own social-security scheme covering 50 % of treatment cost for Below-Poverty-Line families and has partnered with Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana to offer cashless care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital converted 60 beds into isolation ICUs, achieving an 82 % survival rate among severe cases while continuing to manage routine trauma and obstetric emergencies.

Overall, Ashvapurwa Multispeciality Hospital & Trauma Center combines rapid emergency response, depth of specialty expertise and compassion-driven affordability into a single continuum of care.
