ASG Eye Hospital is a single-specialty chain dedicated to comprehensive ophthalmic care. Established in 2005 by Dr. Arun Singhvi and headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the network has grown to 180+ centres across 70 Indian cities plus clinics in Nepal, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Ghana. From the start the founders aimed to bring world-class sight-saving technology beyond metro hubs; today the group performs more than 150,000 surgical procedures and over one million clinical consultations each year.
Each ASG unit is planned as a micro-hospital rather than a consultation room. Reception lobbies open into visual acuity corridors with computerised auto-refractors, non-contact tonometers, digital vision charts and “screen fatigue” assessment kiosks liked by software professionals. Corridors branch into seven standard specialty pods: Cataract & Refractive Surgery (phaco with toric, EDOF and multifocal lenses), Vitreo-Retina (Constellation and Ngenuity 3D systems), Glaucoma (PASCAL and OCT-A diagnostics), Cornea & Keratoconus (topography-guided C3-R and DALK/DSEK), Oculoplasty & Aesthetics (scarless ptosis, orbital implants), Paediatric & Squint, and a Refractive Suite housing the VisuMax femtosecond laser for SMILE, LASIK and corneal cross-linking. A dedicated pharmacy, optical showroom and on-site naïve stem-cell bank for ocular surface disorders complete the footprint. Ambulatory OT blocks have HEPA Class-100 laminar flow and Zeiss OPMI microscopes; most centres run six to eight micro-surgery tables daily.
The clinical workforce comprises 400+ ophthalmologists—many trained at Aravind, Sankara Nethralaya, LVPEI and Moorfields—maintained through quarterly masterclasses and an internal fellowship in micro-incision phaco and retinal surgery. Patient pathways are guided by the proprietary ASPHALT Clinical Information System which auto-uploads every OCT, visual field and biometry exam to a central cloud; AI analytics flag high-risk glaucoma suspects and diabetic maculopathy cases for rapid escalation. ASG publishes its audits in peer-reviewed journals; the latest 2023 dataset lists 94.8 % uncorrected post-LASIK eyes within ±0.50 D and 98.2 % complication-free cataract operations.
Beyond clinical work, ASG runs India’s largest free rural cataract outreach network—“Netra Jagriti”—screening 1.2 million villagers yearly using mobile vans fitted with portable slit-lamps and OCT. Surgeries are free; patients receive dark glasses, drops and transport home. The company also trains provincial surgeons through Joint Commission International-accredited skills labs; over 900 local doctors have gained phaco competence since 2012. CSR initiatives cover school screenings, teacher training on myopia control and customised sports-vision modules for Olympic athletes.
ASG Eye Hospital accepts all national insurance schemes, Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and cashless corporate panels. Appointments can be booked via the ASG mobile app offering tele-triage, maps navigation and post-op e-reports. Accreditation includes NABH (Hospital & Blood Bank) and NABL for in-house diagnostics.
