Adarsh Public School, established in 1975, is an English-medium, co-educational institution recognized by the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT Delhi, and affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) up to the Senior Secondary level (Science, Commerce and Humanities streams). The school operates under the aegis of the Adarsh Shiksha Society, a registered non-profit body committed to providing holistic, affordable and future-oriented education to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Situated on a four-acre urban campus in Vikas Puri, West Delhi, the school combines modern architecture with substantial green cover, creating a calm yet stimulating environment for about 3,600 learners from Pre-School to Class XII.

From the earliest grades the curriculum is strengthened by integrated learning studios, a learner-centric pedagogy that blends Montessori elements, Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences theory and NCERT learning outcomes. In Primary (I-V) the focus is on literacy, numeracy, inquiry-based science and co-curricular clubs such as Robotics Junior, Indian Music, Chess and Storytelling. Middle school (VI-VIII) introduces Fine Arts, Design Thinking, Financial Literacy and Social Entrepreneurship modules, while the Senior section (IX-XII) offers eighteen elective combinations including Psychology, Legal Studies, Artificial Intelligence, Graphic Design and Biotechnology on CBSE’s elective matrix. More than half of all classroom hours are delivered with the aid of interactive panels, Google Workspace for Education and subject-specific simulators licensed from PhET, GeoGebra and Tinkercad.

Teaching faculty exceed 170 qualified members, 32 of whom hold doctoral or NET qualifications. Professional development is institutionalised through weekly lesson-study circles, annual exchange fellowships with partner schools in Singapore and Finland, and an internal ‘Teacher Innovator Grant’ that has incubated thirty student projects now showcased at national science congresses. Assessment reform is central; subjects are graded on competency-based rubrics, open-book and on-demand tests coexist with portfolios, and AI-assisted analytics give learners personal dashboards that track mastery and well-being metrics.

Infrastructure features 72 smart classrooms, separate floors for scholastic and co-scholastic activities, a fully automated library with 22,000+ books plus 50 periodicals, four laboratories each for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Composite Science, two ATL (Atal Tinkering Labs) equipped with 3-D printers, CNC mills and Arduinos, and specialised studios for Visual Arts, Sculpture, Fashion Studies, Music (Indian and Western), Dance and Theatre. Sports facilities cover 40 % of the campus and include a FIFA-standard football ground, six-lane synthetic athletics track, eight badminton courts indoors, a half-Olympic swimming pool, skating rink, shooting range and gymnasium outfitted with Technogym strength and cardio suites. Mandatory sports curriculum lists one sport per term plus a graded adventure programme culminating in a trek to the Great Himalayan National Park.

Guidance and pastoral care are orchestrated through a vertical House system (Ashoka, Chanakya, Tagore and Patel). Each 20-student tutor group meets daily for mentoring. Within one of Delhi’s earliest fully anti-bullying by-law frameworks, the School Welfare Committee, trained peer counsellors, and visiting professionals extend layered emotional support. Over 200 scholarships — academic, sports and need-cum-merit — ensure inclusion, and the annual Avsar Outreach drives teach senior students to run rural immersion projects, a STEM lab for municipal girls’ schools and community recycling plants.

Since its inception Adarsh Public School has placed academic excellence in a matrix with ethics, creativity and global citizenship, thereby shaping thousands of alumni who now lead in premier universities, the armed forces, public service and entrepreneurship worldwide.
