Sharda University is a multi-disciplinary institution in Greater Noida, India, whose super-speciality teaching hospital—Sharda Hospital—is the clinical backbone of its medical programmes and a major tertiary-care referral centre for western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region. Established under the Sharda University Act of Uttar Pradesh and built on a 63-acre campus off the Yamuna Expressway, the 1200-bed facility has grown in annual phases since its commissioning in 2009 and now comprises six interconnected clinical blocks, two outpatient plazas, and 125 critical-care beds distributed among adult, paediatric and neonatal ICUs that operate 24/7.

The hospital is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) and has earned GHA accreditation for medical value travel, permitting scheduled care for international patients. It is also an empanelled organ-retrieval centre for the Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (ROTTO) and hosts kidney, liver and bone-marrow transplant units supported by a 46-member transplant co-ordination team. The imaging sciences department runs a 256-slice CT, 3-Tesla MRI, dual-source digital subtraction angiography suite and PET-CT scanner, while the pathology laboratories are National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) certified and clock over 50,000 investigations daily through automated platforms interfaced with an electronic medical record system accessible to university faculty and residents.

Clinically, Sharda Hospital shelters 30 departments; its centres of excellence include cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, where trans-catheter aortic-valve replacement (TAVR), minimally invasive mitral-valve repair and paediatric congenital cardiac surgery are performed under the guidance of surgeons trained at Cleveland Clinic and Hannover Medical School. Cancer care is delivered through the Sharda Cancer Centre with six linear accelerators, image-guided brachytherapy and a day-care chemotherapy ward. Neurosciences, orthopaedics, gastrointestinal and renal sciences units similarly deploy state-of-the-art technology such as intraoperative MRI navigation (neurosurgery), NAVIO robotic arm for joint replacement, endoscopic and stereotactic liver interventions, and a 45-station dialysis floor. Maternal and child health is anchored by a Level-III NICU, high-risk pregnancy unit and foetal medicine division.

Academically, the hospital is fully integrated with Sharda University’s School of Medical Sciences & Research (SMSR) which runs the MBBS programme of 250 seats per year affiliated to the National Medical Commission, India, and several postgraduate superspeciality courses recognised by the Medical Council of India. Nearly 900 residents, 1200 undergraduate students and 350 nursing trainees rotate through clinical postings supervised by 300 full-time faculty members who also publish an average of 250 Scopus-indexed papers annually and conduct clinical-trial phases II-IV adhering to ICH-GCP standards.

Patient comfort and international service are prioritized: dedicated international concierge desks, language interpreters (Arabic, Russian, Nepali, Pashto, French, Bengali), cashless insurance tie-ups with 200+ Indian and 30 overseas insurers, and tele-ICU international second-opinion portals. Sharda Hospital performs approximately 16,000 surgeries and 420,000 outpatient consultations every year, and participates actively in state immunisation drives and rural outreach camps serving more than 100 villages.
