Unised International School is a premium K-12 day-and-boarding institution located on a 34-acre green campus on the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra. Established in 2003 by the Unised Foundation, it was conceived as a “living laboratory” where Indian roots meet global practices. Academic programmes carry dual recognition: the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) up to Grade 10 and the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) IGCSE/A-Level track from Grades 9-12. Qualified heads of department sit on both exam boards, ensuring seamless transition for students who may switch streams.

Infrastructure underscores the philosophy “buildings that teach”. Every cluster of classrooms is paired with open-to-sky courtyards for outdoor lessons; Wi-Fi enabled studios incorporate writable glass partitions and height-adjustable furniture to allow flexible group work. The Da Vinci block houses robotics, 3-D printing and micro-fabrication labs sponsored by Siemens. A 350-seat thrust-stage auditorium, IP-based TV studio and Dolby Atmos sound theatre nurture performing arts; 22 resident specialists coach Indian classical, jazz, ballet and contemporary dance. The 25 m temperature-controlled indoor pool and FIFA-standard football ground (turffed with drought-resistant Bermuda grass) support morning conditioning sessions monitored by wearable tech.

Faculty structure is deliberately blended. Roughly 55 % of 190 teaching staff hold advanced degrees from universities abroad; all undertake 100 hours of annual professional development co-designed with Harvard’s Project Zero on visible thinking routines. Class size caps at 18 with two co-teachers—one subject expert and one SEL (social-emotional learning) facilitator—creating an effective teacher–student ratio of 1:9. A dedicated university-relations office begins career counselling in Grade 8, placing students annually in institutions such as NUS, Imperial College and NYU Abu Dhabi on scholarships totalling over US $2.4 million.

Signature initiatives include the Global Service Learning (GSL) programme: every learner logs 60 hours of community impact each year, run in partnership with local NGOs and tracked on blockchain certificates. The Unised Design Factory, an on-campus incubator, has mentored 28 student start-ups since 2019; notable alumni include a low-cost Braille tablet now deployed in 200 rural schools. Boarders—120 boys and 80 girls—live in LEED-gold dormitories with biometric access, RFID laundry and faculty apartments on each floor to provide 24-hour pastoral care; weekend expeditions range from trekking the Sahyadris to astrophotography in the Atacama under an MoU with the European Southern Observatory.

The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC); it is also an Apple Distinguished School, with 1:1 iPad deployment from Grade 3 and app-based portfolios beginning in Grade 1. Annual fees range from INR 5.2 lakh (day) to INR 9.8 lakh (boarding), inclusive of meals designed by sports nutritionists and overseen by a full-time paediatric dietician.
