JSS Public School, inaugurated in 2004, is a CBSE-affiliated senior-secondary institution promoted by the not-for-profit Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Mahavidyapeetha (JSS MVP). The foundation stone was laid by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, whose vision drives a legacy stitched across 2,500 acres of the JSS University campus in Mysuru. Beginning with 500 students and 25 staff members, the school has organically expanded to serve approximately 1,600 learners from Montessori to class XII, maintaining a healthy teacher-pupil ratio of 1:25.

The sprawling 12-acre urban campus is a seamless blend of traditional aesthetics and contemporary infrastructure. Centrally air-conditioned, Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms are fitted with interactive smart panels and individual lockers. Learning is enlivened through an ATL (Atal Tinkering Lab), five state-of-the-art Science laboratories, Mathematics & Language Resource Centres, two interdisciplinary STREAM studios, and an Apple-backed iClassroom. The 4,800 sq. m. Library & Research Centre houses 50,000 books, remote-access scholarly databases, and a soundproofed e-zone. Technology extends into Administration through an AI-enabled ERP for fee, transport and health records.

Sports infrastructure spans an Olympic-size 8-lane swimming pool, 400-m athletics track, international-standard FIFA-spec turf football field, two clay & two synthetic tennis courts, dedicated courts for basketball, throw-ball and badminton, a wooden-floor multipurpose indoor stadium, rifle-shooting alley and a fully equipped gymnasium. Residential life is available in the sprawling, gender-segregated Vidyashram hostel that can accommodate 480 boarders; it includes 24-hour infirmary service, modern kitchens, counselling pods and evening tutorial zones.

Academic philosophy is anchored in constructivism and experiential learning. Bilingual (English-Kannada) pre-primary follows an integrated play-way Montessori approach. Primary & Middle school incorporates NCERT content with JSS-researched mindfulness curriculum, coding skills and environmental stewardship. Senior secondary offers Science, Commerce and Humanities streams, supplemented with Olympiads, NTSE, advanced placement and NEET / JEE clinics. The school has registered a 100 % CBSE pass record for eight consecutive years, with more than 75 % students scoring above 90 %; top achievers regularly gain admission into IISc, IITs, NLS and foreign universities.

Co-curricular life thrives through 35 clubs and platforms: Rangmanch theatre troupe, IGNITE Science & Robotics Club, SMARThistory society, Green Brigade sustainability warriors, Model UN & Legislative Assembly, and a vibrant music conservatory offering Carnatic, Hindustani and western orchestration. Annual calendar highlights include the Knowledge Summit graced by ISRO scientists, Tatva eco-rally, Artefact international art residency and Spardha inter-school sports meet. Over 300 weekly hours are allocated to the JSS Symphony Orchestra and classical dance curriculum.

Faculty strength stands at 110 (PhD: 11, M.Phil: 23, NET/SET: 27), mentored by the JSS College of Education in cutting-edge pedagogy; every teacher earns 30 hours of Cambridge-certified professional development per year. Counselling & Remediation Wing zeros in on personalised care, while a fully air-conditioned infirmary manages resident nurses and roped-in multi-specialty hospital tie-ups.

Admissions operate on an open, merit-cum-need approach; 15 % tuition waivers are granted via scholarships for socio-economically disadvantaged, meritorious and sport excellence categories. Parent interaction runs on a digitised parent portal featuring live CCTV access, e-home-work, and quarterly PBEd (Parent & Brainchild Empowerment dialogues).

JSS Public School stands today as a model where ancient Vedic values meet 21st-century innovation, nurturing curious, compassionate and competitive citizens.
