Late Thursday night in Noida’s Sector-14, police clashed with a criminal. The police team was conducting a routine checkpoint near a drain when they signalled a suspicious motorcyclist to stop; he sped away instead. As officers gave chase, the rider fired at them. Police fired back, hitting the man in the leg.
The suspect, Sanjeev alias Golu from Delhi’s Dallupura, was arrested and admitted to hospital. Officers recovered a country-made pistol, live cartridges, and three mobile phones from him. During questioning, he was identified as a hardened criminal involved in snatchings while armed, with Delhi and Noida police already listing 11 cases of robbery, theft, and arms violations against him.
