Arogya Hospital, established in 1998 in the heart of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is a 350-bed multispecialty tertiary-care center whose very name—“Arogya,” Sanskrit for “holistic well-being”–reflects its founding philosophy. Accredited by NABH and NABL, the hospital operates from a modern 11-storey structure that houses eight Centers of Excellence: Cardiac Sciences, Neurosciences, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Oncology, Minimal-Access & Bariatric Surgery, Mother & Child Health, Renal Sciences, and Gastroenterology.

The facility is anchored by 12 ultramodern operating theatres outfitted with laminar airflow, 4-K 3-D visualization, and robotic Da Vinci Xi arms shared between surgical oncology and urology teams. Adjacent 63 ICU beds—comprising Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Neuro, Neonatal, and Transplant units—are monitored centrally through Philips Intellivue Guardian software, while a 24-bed Level-III NICU is staffed with in-house neonatologists certified in NRP and CSTS. Diagnostic depth is ensured with a 128-slice dual-source CT, 3-Tesla silent MRI, PET-MR for precision oncology, digital breast tomosynthesis, and fully automated central laboratory processing 5,000 samples daily. For advanced therapy, the hospital runs a 20-chair day-care chemotherapy unit with molecularly-guided drug selection, a true beam STX linear accelerator with VMAT/IGRT capability, and a cath-lab hybrid for complex TAVI and electrophysiology cases.

On the human side, Arogya employs more than 330 superspecialists and 560 nurses (covering CCRN, ONC, and other subspecialty certifications), supported by 110 resident doctors and 290 allied health workers trained on an ongoing basis through the Arogya Institute for Clinical Excellence. A round-the-clock bed-ICU tele-rounding system allows remote consultation with global partners such as the Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins International. The hospital’s 24×7 green corridor protocol, in collaboration with city traffic police, has reduced STEMI door-to-device time to an average of 34 minutes—among the fastest in central India.

Equity of care is practiced through the Arogya-Sahyog Foundation, which funds 100% free surgeries for children with congenital heart defects under two years of age and subsidizes cancer therapy for women from Below-Poverty-Line families via crowd-funded “Pink-Aid” health cards. Double-occupancy general wards cost only ₹1,750 per day inclusive of meals and nursing, while deluxe suites offer single-patient privacy, transient rooms for international attendants, and translation assistance in 17 languages.

Sustainability initiatives include a 120-ton biomedical waste management plant that converts 98% of waste to refuse-derived fuel, a 365-kWp rooftop solar array reducing grid reliance by 31%, and a water-harvesting network capturing 62 million liters annually.

Digital conveniences—paperless EHR via Epic, Arogya Plus mobile app for queue-less OPD booking, in-room tablet menus, BLE-based asset tracking, and NFC-enabled e-pharmacy door delivery—ensure that technology truly serves humanity rather than complicates it.

Open 365 days, Arogya Hospital now serves over 160,000 outpatients and performs more than 18,000 major surgeries every year, continuing to fulfill its promise: “Your Health, Our Dharma.”
